Maxine Harcourt-Kelly is a historical writer based in West Sussex. After many years in business she returned to education, gaining a first class honours degree in history, followed by an MA in Cultural History (University of Chichester), during which time she enjoyed four years as the archivist at Tangmere Military Aviation Museum. Her particular interest in the Jedburghs and SOE comes from her late father-in-law, Fred Bailey – a Jed and radio operator during the Second World War. Her interest also extends to the 138 Special Duties Squadron, who flew from Tempsford and has previously contributed to the book Secret Operations over Occupied Europe.
