Downloading to your phone/tablet
Our audiobooks will not work on apps such as Audible, Apple Books or Kobo Books. We recommend the free and safe app, BookPlayer.
- Go to the audiobook you wish to purchase on our website, click “Add to basket” and purchase the audiobook through the checkout.
- Once you have gone through the checkout, you will receive an email confirmation which includes a download link. You can download the file directly from this email or continue to your account to activate your download. You will need to sign in to your account on our website in order to access the file in this way. You can sign in here: https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/account.
- Your audiobook will start to download.
- Once downloaded, your audiobook will show in your phone’s Files app or Downloads app (this may differ slightly on Apple or Android devices).
- Open up the BookPlayer app.
- Go to “Import Files” and choose your downloaded audiobook.
- Go to “Create playlist” and name this the title of the audiobook.
- The audiobook will then appear in your BookPlayer playlist and you can start listening.
- Please note:- our audiobooks are quite large files and so if you wish to delete them from your phone after listening, you can always log back onto your Pen & Sword account at any time to re-download.
Downloading to a computer
Our audiobooks will work fine on Windows Media Player or other MP3 players on computers and laptops.
- Go to the audiobook you wish to purchase on our website, click “Add to basket” and purchase the audiobook through the checkout.
- Once you have gone through the checkout, you will receive an email confirmation which includes a download link. You can download the file directly from this email or continue to your account to activate your download. You will need to sign in to your account on our website to access the file in this way. - Your audiobook will start to download and will ask you where you want to save the file. This can be saved in any folder on your computer. If you don’t request a specific folder, it will download to your “Downloads” folder.
- When completed, double click on the audiobook file. You can listen to the audiobook on Windows Media Player (general) or even import the files onto your iTunes account if you have one.
