The 9th September marks the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Flodden
9th September 2013
The Battle of Flodden was one of the bloodiest battles fought on English soil. It was a national tragedy that led to the death of up to 10,000 Scots and around 1,500 English. As well as losing all these men, Scotland lost its King. James IV was the last British Monarch to be killed in battle.
