The German Wehrmacht was the name given to the unified armed forces of Germany during the Second World War from 1939 to 1945. The Wehrmacht consisted of the Heer (Army), the Kriegsmarine (Navy) and the Luftwaffe (Air Force). Forming part of a three part series, this DVD, entitled Winter War on the Northern and Eastern Front, documents the battles in North Africa and Stalingrad and the ground units that fought in them.
The German Front stretched from the far north of Europe to North Africa. This documentary shows many aspects of the war and many combat missions. Combined with a selection of original and unseen German archive footage, this DVD explores numerous areas of the German Wehrmacht, from the Northern Front and the Battle for Stalingrad to Motorcycle troop missions and FLAK positions, making this essential viewing for all Second World War enthusiasts.
Another briliiant collection of official German archive material on DVD - this series is going to prove difficult to beat for research purposes, and anyone studying World War II and German involvement would be well-advised to start with this material. If proof were needed of the determination of the German high command to secure victory through technical means, then this is it. This and the two DVDs that follow are exemplary in providing valuable insight into the German fighting machine that very nearly conquered the world during that long conflict.
