After serving an apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce in Crewe Peter Ollerhead entered their Technical Services Drawing Office where he worked for five years before leaving to train as a teacher at Keele University. While teaching Peter continued his research into local history, obtaining an MA with Keele. In addition he regularly broadcasts on Premier Christian Radio as well as serving for many years as director of programmes for the local hospital radio. For the past forty years Peter has traded in second-hand books with a shop in Crewe. As a keen local historian he chairs the Crewe & District Local History Association. This is his eighth book covering Crewe and south Cheshire.
