Andy Singleton has been modelling and painting most of his life and has been a professional commission figure painter for some years now. Here he shares his experience and tips of the trade for painting Axis forces on WW2’s Eastern Front: Germans, Romanians, Hungarians and Italians and Finns.
Each of the chapters is broken into step by step guides explaining the steps and colours required to paint the various uniforms used. The emphasis is on quickly achievable results and practical advice that is applicable to painting units or whole armies for wargaming purposes in a reasonable time frame. The techniques described are designed to easily be adaptable to figures of all sizes.
Andy’s clear, step-by-step guidance is primarily designed for those new to historical gaming, and takes the reader through the process from the initial preparation and assembly of the figure, to finishing and basing.
"This is a valuable reference for war-gamers, figure and military modellers, and would in fact be a useful addition to any modeller's bookshelf."

It will also be a very useful resource for those who are already in the hobby, there’s plenty in this book for an old timer in the hobby to benefit from.
Latest title in Pen and Sword's excellent series on the painting of wargaming figures, this time taking a ,long hard look at the allies engaged at the Eastern front. Andy Singleton certainly knows his stuff!

I know I keep harping on about it, but this book really is a godsend to those newer to the wargaming hobby. I have used several of the techniques described in the book to good effect and would recommend it to anyone with an interest both in Wargaming and in Figure Painting. I have not found anything negative to say about this book or it's author and to that end will give it a well-deserved five out of five.

I have been modelling, particularly in small scale, for over 50 years but I am always looking to learn new ideas and there are plenty of useful tips and techniques in here that I will certainly be trying out. I like this one, and especially for wargamers wanting to paint a collection of figures en masse, then this is a very useful reference to have on your reference bookshelf.

You really cannot go wrong with Andy Singleton’s books on painting wargame figures. This latest one delivers excellent advice and techniques on achieving accuracy in Axis Eastern Front figures and I was fascinated by the techniques to paint the various types of camouflage uniforms. I am looking forward to putting the principles into practice. Highly recommended.
