This is a perfect book for adults and new parents who believe they are suffering from allergies. Not only does it set out clearly where to get help, it explains what to expect during the process of testing for allergens.

It will be a book that will be best kept to hand and dip into sections repeatedly.

Have recommended this excellent book to many of my patients. Fantastic resource for a parent with a child who has a food allergy.

There is something in this book for any stage of life with allergies, be it a new allergy parent, a newly diagnosed adult, or even your allergic teen. Living with allergies: practical tips for all the family is also something to gift family and friends who still don’t get it. Emma outlines how allergies impact your everyday life, plus all the things someone managing allergies needs to juggle on the daily.

Even if you’ve been living with allergies your whole life and think they’re under control, I suggest giving this book a read. It will empower you to own your allergies a little more!

Allergy Girl Eats

I picked up this book after suddenly beginning to suffer with severe allergic reactions to food post-menopause. Although the book is written by a mother coming to terms with the allergies of her children, I found that it explained the process and types of allergy in a clear and concise way.

It was also filled with reassurance about living with allergies, detailed the process of allergy testing (which I am just about to face) and different types of allergy. I suffered with bronchial asthma as a child and eczema for a large proportion of my life and the book draws the links with these conditions, making it unsurprising that I have developed food allergies.

I found the book clearly set out and now feel more confident about moving into this allergy analysis phase of my life. Thank you to the author.

This book is brilliant. Like Emma our first allergy journey started in 2013 when our first son was born with little information out there we had a terrible journey. But this book answers so many of the questions I had then and confirms what I know now.

6 weeks in to our second allergy journey. I purchased this book whilst pregnant and it’s reminded me to be kind to myself and trust my instincts as a parent the journey this time so far, with the help of the book has been much easier.

I’d highly recommend this book and have already recommended it to friends who’s children have allergies or are showing signs of allergies.

This was an informative, interesting read to help find remedies on allergies. I look forward to implementing some and am grateful for having a better understanding of allergies through reading this.

Until relatively recently, the only allergy that ever got a mention was hay fever and the various pollen allergies; then there came various nut allergies, and now, it sees, our modern lifestyles have led to people being allergic to just about anything and everything. Emma’s book is essential reading for most people in the 21st century world, with practical advice and information all gathered in one handy reference book.

Living with Allergies is a good guide for parents who are uninformed about allergies and can be used as a way of sparking conversation with a doctor.

Throughout the book there is lots of expert advice, that is well presented. This information adds even further to the usefulness of this book. Also, this book does so much more than just explain what different types of allergies are. Instead, the book guides you through what allergies are, how to help certain situations be much more manageable and enjoyable, but it also delves deeper. Chapter 15, support and psychological effects, really sung to me when I was reading it. It helped me understand why I have had such high anxiety for the last couple of years and also helped me form a plan to cope with this better.

The main thing to take away from my review is this is THE perfect book for you. Whether you’re just starting on your allergy journey, for yourself or your child, or you’re looking to feel more empowered and confident you’ll find this book perfect.

THE book you wished you had when allergies were first diagnosed!

From the moment I started reading this wonderful book, I knew it was going to be good!

My little boy was diagnosed with multiple severe allergies over 6 years ago, and after a big fight for diagnosis, we were pretty much left to our own devices to figure out what to do next, how to feed him safely, how to understand what was happening and recognise reactions.

Emma has created an effective bible on allergies, a must read, and 'go to' for anyone navigating the allergies journey. It is packed full of information from leading consultants, and practical tips and advice. The book is like holding your hand as you work your way through a dark tunnel before reaching the end armed with everything you need to see you through successfully!

If you're unsure of whether to buy it or not, BUY IT! I promise, you won't be disappointed!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Newly diagnosed must have!

I am a parent to a Coeliac daughter and I myself have allergies and intolerance's so that's a hat trick, auto immune, allergy, intolerance.

This book is written in a style that I can follow and not feel bamboozled by science (many articles I've read confuse me with too much science) that said, the advice and information in the book is provided by the top professionals in the allergy industry so you know that each source can be trusted. I also happen to know a couple of the families interviewed in the book so I'm thrilled their stories are being heard.

When you have a child newly diagnosed your world implodes, there's a grieving period (that never really goes away) and you feel alone even in a room full of professionals. Emma Amoscato's book is like a friend that understands giving you a huge reassuring hug; you're not alone, and it's going to okay.

While you will never stop learning and each day can be a challenge, this book takes some of the guess work out of it.
