The shell-ravaged landscape of Hill 60, some three miles to the south east of Ypres, conceals beneath it a labyrinth of tunnels and underground workings. This small area saw horrendous fighting in the early years of the war as the British and Germans struggled to control its dominant view over Ypres.
Another great book in the Battleground Series.  The area in question of Hill 60 and focus of the book is described as being no bigger than the centre of  Trafalgar Square..  It is acknowledged in the introduction that it will be unlikely there will be another book in this series that will focus on such as small area of land - such was its importance....Alongside telling the story of the action that took place in this area, the purpose of this guide is to of course help the visitor to understand the fundamental detail of the larger actions that took place around the Hill, and to know something of the individuals and formations that fought so hard in the vicinity.Â
