Every Friday, the children of Rainbow Kindergarten go to the playground on the corner of the street, where they play in the fields of grass filled with beautiful flowers. Of all the flowers, their favourite are the bright yellow dandelions. They put them in their hair and gently blow the seed heads, sending them fluttering in the fields like dandelion snow. Wherever the seeds fall, new flowers will grow, their teacher tells them.
But one day, they discover that the playground has been closed so new homes can be built in its place. The fields have turned grey, and the flowers have all gone. Will they find a new way to spread the dandelion snow and bring life and colour back to their neighbourhood?

I thought that this was a lovely book
It is very well written and it has a lovely natural flow to the story.
The story is one that I really enjoyed and I loved the characters in the book.
The illustrations in the book are wonderful and they brought the book to life.
I loved the messaging through the book and the ending was great too.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!

It's such a nostalgic book for me, I feel it's a small window to the past.
Also, the sense of community is evident in this story which I truly appreciate.
it's a fete of the small things that make us happy as kids, seeing the beauty in the details and trying to preserve it.

This was so adorable and hopeful! I love that the book focused on dandelions over other flowers. Dandelions get such a bad reputation as weeds, but I love them!

I loved the narrative of this story. The author has written in so many relevant topics to lead a class discussion about - nature, neighborhoods, housing, seasons, cycles, friendship. This is a book with Kindergarten students at the centre and nature as the educator, The bold, bright illustrations alongside the greyscale neighbourhoods allow for the children and nature to stand out - yet another talking point.
This is definitely a title that I would add to my teaching collection and our school’s library.
A lovely little story for children, and great for dandelion lovers (of all ages)! Very much enjoyed it.
