This book from Pen and Sword is an excellent photographic coverage of the armoured warfare in north west Europe from 1844 to 1945. The majority of photographs are previously unpublished, or if so, very limited as despite years of reading about this subject, I had not seen many before. The coverage is heavy on the American side, but still gives a good visual look at the armoured vehicles involved, many of which are shown in knocked out condition. Some destroyed to an extent that one cannot be amazed and wonder what hit them! Some are explained in the text, as internal detonation of their ammunition, but they are certainly a mess. There is an accompanying text that throws light on the subjects, and the progress of the campaign in general. Its a handy book for those who want to catch a visual impression of the NW Europe campaign
